Principle
Andrew Pini, the driving force behind our firm, began his illustrious career with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (Deloitte) under their graduate recruitment program from 1999 to 2000. He then further honed his skills at KPMG Chartered Accountants (KPMG), where he spent 12 years and 7 months, rising
through the ranks to Manager and Senior Manager. In 2013, Andrew joined BDO Accountants (formerly Guinn PKF), contributing his expertise for over 3 years until November 2016.
Throughout his career, Mr. Pini has specialized in a variety of accounting tasks, including liquidation, receivership, personal bankruptcy, administration of deceased estates, forensic accounting and audit, due diligence investigations and audits, special project audits, company audits, accounts, and taxation.
His comprehensive experience and dedication to his field make him an invaluable asset to our clients.
In 2007, KPMG recognized Mr. Pini's exceptional skills and registered him as a Public Accountant, Company Auditor, and Registered Liquidator with the PNG Accountants Registration Board, a status he maintains to this day.
Senior Auditor
Lucas Aita graduated from Divine Word University in 1993 with a Diploma in Business Studies. He began his career as an Internal Auditor at the Department of Works from 1994 to 1998, then moved to POSF (Nambawan Super Ltd) in the same role from 1998 to 2001. In 2002, he joined the Kina Group of Companies as an Internal Auditor. He gained further experience in financial auditing with Star Business Consultants from February 2008 to the end of 2009.
In 2010, Lucas joined Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu as an experienced financial auditor. He left Deloitte in September 2016 to join KPMG, where he was promoted from Semi Senior Auditor to Senior Auditor within a year. In May 2014, Lucas completed his CPA program and became a Certified
Practising Accountant. Deloitte sent him on secondments to Deloitte Sydney in Australia for three months in 2015 and to Deloitte PNG in Honiara, Solomon Islands for two months.
With over 10 years of financial audit experience, Lucas has audited major entities in the country, including Bank South Pacific (BSP), IPI Group of Companies, Dulux (PNG) Pte, Picsa Group of Companies, Anitua Group of Companies, Toyota, Nasfund Savings and Loans Society (NCSL), East
New Britain Savings and Loans Society (ENBSL), PNG Federation of Savings and Loans, Island Mobile Hire Cars, and CMCA Trusts managed by OTDF in Kiunga.
Senior Audit Manager
Sailas Jeffrey is our Senior Audit Manager at Pini Accountants and Advisors, specializing in auditing and assurance services. He is a Certified Practicing Accountant of Papua New Guinea (CPAPNG), having been admitted in 2015.
With over 10 years of audit experience at KPMG, PwC, and TeeBee
Accountants Limited, Sailas joined our firm in May 2024. He brings extensive expertise in managing clients across various industries and sectors, including superannuation funds, transport, financial services, telecommunications, airlines, shipping, manufacturing, insurance, catering companies, project audits, and non-profit organizations.
Sailas holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from PNG University of Technology.
Audit Manager
Martha completed her Bachelor of Business in Accounting and Computing in 2013 at Pacific Adventist University. Upon graduating, she joined Ernst & Young (EY) as a Graduate Accountant in 2014. Within two years, she advanced to the position of Supervisor and achieved her CPA status in 2017. Martha left Ernst & Young as a Senior Accountant and joined KPMG in 2018.
During her tenure at both Ernst & Young and KPMG, Martha gained valuable experience through short to medium-term collaborations and secondments with affiliated offices in Australia. In 2019, she was promoted to Assistant Manager at KPMG. She later transitioned to Save the Children, a global NGO, where she assumed the role of Head of Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit for the PNG Country Office.
Martha has over eight years of experience delivering external financial audits for a range of entities, from large complex organizations to medium and small enterprises, specializing in banking and financial institutions. She also has hands-on audit experience across various industries, including insurance, manufacturing, construction, retail, automotive, government departments, donor agencies, mining contractors, trusts, and shipping. Additionally, Martha has over two years of experience in risk and
compliance, corporate services, and finance, having served as Finance Director at Save the Children.
Senior Insolvency
Charles Diudi is a Senior Staff in insolvency matters undertaking
various tasks including liquidation, receivership, and administration
of companies and also has auditing experiences with over 5 years of
work experience. He started his career with WR Carpenters as an
Internal Auditor from 2011 – 2012. Then he joined BDO
Accountants as Auditor/Accountant from 2012-2016. He was
engaged in number of BDO audit clients, performing external audits
and other accounting functions. He later joined Pini Accountants and Advisors in 2016 and has been with the firm for eight years. Charles has hands on audit experience in various industries such as shipping, mining and gas, insurance, property, construction, trading companies and security service etc.
Auditor
Koi has completed his Bachelor in Business (Accountancy) from PNG University of Technology in 2013. He then joined Guin PKF of which currently operates as BDO Chartered Accountants on 27 May 2014 as a Graduate Accountant. He left BDO in July 2019 as an Accountant 2 and joined KPMG. In June 2021, joined Pini Accountants and Advisors. Koi has over 4 years of experience in external auditing, performing financial statement audits and agreed upon procedures audits for entities
such as Trust Accounts, NGO’s Banking, Savings and Loan Societies, Government Departments, Insurance, Constructions, Hire Cars, Investment Properties. He also has experience in assurance liquidation, tax and payroll for 3 years. He is currently undergoing CPA .
Senior Tax and Insolvency
John Alai completed his bachelor degree in accountancy from The University of Papua New Guinea in 2010. He has over 9 years’ experience in Taxation,
Accounting, Audit and Insolvency from working in various accounting firms
starting with KPMG in 2010. In July 2013 he joined Shishya PNG Limited and
worked as the country manager of the office providing tax consultancy and
business advisory services to its clients based in Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and Australia.
In August 2017 he joined Pini Accountants and Advisors.
Supervisor
Philemon Laida completed Bachelor of Business (Accounting & Management) in 2004 from the Pacific Adventist University (PAU), outside of Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. He joined Deloitte as a graduate audit analyst in 2004. Philemon spent 5 years in external audit and involved in many auditing clients ranging from large listed entities to medium and small entities. He was the lead senior (team leader) even he was able to take charge of audit engagements whilst still a junior auditor and this does
demonstrate how invaluable he was with Deloitte. Philemon made his way up to senior analyst and left in June 2009 following referral to join Pacific Assurance Group Ltd (PAG), a local general insurance company. He has total of 13 years’ experience in the accounting field. Philemon was promoted to Chief Financial Officer for PAG until 2017 when PAG was placed into liquidation by order of Court.
Philemon will perform as an audit supervisor for any engagement. He will supervise and manage audit fieldwork and supervises staff onsite. Philemon also has a lot of audit experiences in liquidating big companies including PAG.
